Having dedicated his career to refractive surgery and believing strongly in the amazing results and safety of laser vision correction, Dr. King has undergone refractive surgery and now has 20/15 vision in each eye without glasses or contacts. In addition, he has helped more than 60,000 laser eye surgery patients achieve near-perfect vision during his 15-plus years of experience as a LASIK surgeon.

Dr. King graduated from the University of British Columbia School of Medicine in Vancouver, Canada. He completed his postgraduate medical and surgical internship in Victoria, British Columbia. A dual U.S. and Canadian citizen, Dr. King's Ophthalmology specialty training was performed at Case Western Reserve University, St. Luke's Medical Center, in Cleveland, Ohio, where he served as Chief Resident. Following completion of his Ophthalmology residency, Dr. King completed an additional year of training in ophthalmology, which included specialized training in laser vision correction at the University of South Florida Eye Institute.

Refractive Experience
Dr. King is one of the most experienced laser eye surgeons in North America. He has served as Medical Director at one of the busiest laser eye surgery centres in Canada and held the same position at Restore Vision Centers in Renton, Washington and Lasik Vision Centers in San Diego. Dr. King was also Chief Surgeon at LASIK MD Vancouver and LASIK MD Calgary and was Medical Director of several LASIK MD centres in BC and Alberta. This vast, international experience has helped Dr. King start his own physician-owned practice, King Vision, formerly Clearly LASIK, a state-of-the-art vision correction practice serving patients throughout the Pacific Northwest and Western Canada.

A leader in the field of laser vision correction, Dr. King has participated in various research studies and clinical trials as a clinical investigator. He was the first surgeon in the world to perform laser vision correction with the latest generation of custom-wavefront guided technology in 2010 and the first surgeon in Western North America to use the Bausch and Lomb Z-100 laser. This leading-edge custom laser technology is now available at King Vision. In addition, Dr. King was the first surgeon in the Northwestern U.S. and Canada to use the Bausch and Lomb Zyoptix XP microkeratome, and he performed the first iLASIK procedure in Alberta using the IntraLase and AMO VISX laser with wavefront-guided technology and iris registration. He is certified and has performed surgeries on most leading laser systems, including Bausch and Lomb, VISX, Alcon LadarVision, and Nidek.

Dr. King has trained many other eye surgeons and has presented at refractive surgery meetings worldwide. In addition to being the official LASIK surgeon of the National Hockey League’s Vancouver Canucks, Dr. King has been selected to provide other physicians and refractive surgeons with super vision, as well as commercial pilots, air force personnel, military navigators, CEOs, actors, professional athletes, dentists, law enforcement officers and others whose livelihood depends on great vision.
